Upgrades to S/v Lollipop- a Grampian 26

Tiller

The tiller on Lollipop was badly delaminated and held together with a piece of rope. Being a new owner to the boat,I had no idea what the tiller should look like.

With the help of members from the Yahoo Grampian sailboats website, a profile was developed and published on the site.

The tiller consists of 5 tapered alternating Mahogany and White Ash laminations, glued together with thickened epoxy, on a MDF mold.

The blank is shaped, rudder post tang fitted and coated in clear epoxy before mounting the tang.

Finish consists of several coats of Helmsman varnish, and is kept covered with a sunbrella cover.
