Upgrades to s/v Lollipop - A Grampian 26
Galley.
The galley, like most of Lollipop, was never touched in all the years of it's existence and due for an overhaul.
Sink and faucet, Formica and lift up lid removed.
The old fire protection material around the cook stove removed and replaced with copper.
Bulkhead storage unit removed and replaced with a swing out plate rack cup holder and shelf, all in Cherry and the rest of the bulkhead clad in acrylic mirror.
An open well was created behind the sink and the lift up lid extended from the well to the aft edge of the countertop.
Formica was replaced with 1/4” thick granite sheet. ( granite chips embedded in resin on a fiberglass mat and polished in a 2' x 2' sheet) also the open well was lined with this material. Only 3 sheets where required, weight was not really an issue.
Before After
Electric water pump removed and replaced with a foot pump and new faucet.
Dinette table top replaced with solid quarter sawn White Oak top and a Cherry leg.
More plate and glass storage created on the shelf over the quarter berth, all in Cherry.
During the winter haul out the inoperable shut off and hose from the sink were replaced.
An attempt was made to remove the thru hull also and replace it with Marelon, but it would not budge without major damage to the hull and was left in place.
Existing fabric on the hull will be replaced with Dek-master, a 60 mil waterproof all weather vinyl.
